Anyone who works with the body will know about adding ice or heat...

 

Massage and herbal therapy has always been a part of Thai culture. Even the food they eat is about nutrition from the inside out. We have a lot to learn from this culture. And although the sex trade and Thai massage has somehow been married together - nothing could be further from the truth.

 

Thai massage can be as deep or superficial as you want, but as they say in Thailand "No pain, No gain!". 

Thai massage naturally incorporates other massages treatments and more. Adding Thai Herbal - is a bonus. The heat and herbs used are historically positive and only add to a treatment. Plus some of them cannot be bought here with out being authorised.  The herbs are choosen for specific reasons. They are respected. And rightly so. After child birth, sport relief or just general health. Thai Massage and Herbs are an excelent combination.

 

Camphor – stimulates the brain, heart and circulation system,  but relieves mental, emotional stress, anxiety and insomnia. When inhaled it is good for sinuses and respiration. Used in compresses it soothes sore muscles and arthritis, and treats nervous system disorders such as multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia.

 

Cassamunar Ginger – sooths the aching muscle. It's a natural emollient used by women to tone and soften their skin, and has been used (in Thailand) by generations to restore the womb after giving birth. 3 months is given to women to recover from childbirth in Thailand. It includes Thai Sauna. We have a lot to learn as Westerners.

Galangal – Yes, you can make amazing soup from this. You can also use it to internally relieves many digestive ailments. It is strong, antiseptic and tones the skin as well as treating skin diseases.

 

Ginger – Most people know the powerful effect when stimulanting the body with heat. It boosts circulation, eases muscle stiffness and increases the potency of all herbs combined with it. Say no more!

 

Kaffir Lime – Again, another great leave for a curry - however these vapours are also uplifting. Treating respiratory ailments and cleaning the skin, as the oil acts as a cleansing astringent.

 

Lemongrass – Soothing and invigorating. Like Thai Massage its self, clearing the head and uplifting the mind.

 

Turmeric – one of the key ingredients in a good curry - and in healing - used internally for circulatory and digestive problems. It is also antiseptic and a natural moisturiser, very popular for skin treatments.
